Encaustic Painting

This piece was done for my painting 2 class at Franklin Pierce University. Encaustic painting is done by using bricks of pigment thats made with bees wax that is melted along with bees wax itself. Both the bees wax and pigment brick were sat on a griddle which kept them at an adequate temperature to be able to paint onto a watercolor page that was attached to a wooden backboard.

Encaustic (wax) painting that's colorful and abstract featuring many different aspects to its abstractness
